Code of Practice
In my working relationships with others the principles which I support are:
Confidentiality
- a commitment to the confidentiality of clients and participants based on mutually agreed approaches to recording and reporting of material
- a commitment to ensuring anonymity of evaluation respondents unless acknowledging participants and/or organizations is appropriate and is agreed in advance
Working environment
- to provide a safe, open and trusting environment which enables participants to contribute freely
- to respect the contributions and participation of the individuals and groups involved in any project
- a commitment to empowerment, participation and working in partnership
Equal Opportunities
- to work within current equal opportunities legislation and take account of participating organisations policy and practices in equal opportunities
- to be aware of equalities issues and in particular those which have most impact on the work in hand, and to seek to be inclusive in my practices
- to challenge discrimination and exclusive practices
Data protection
- to work within the provisions and principles of the data protection act 1998
Professional practice
- I work within the Social Research Association Ethical Guidelines 2003, and the University of Dundee Research Ethics: Code of practice.
